How to Enable JavaScript

The following instructions describe how to enable JavaScript for:

Internet Explorer, Firefox, Netscape, Opera, Safari, Chrome, and AOL browsers.


Internet Explorer 8.x

  1. Select Internet Options from the Tools menu.

  2. In Internet Options dialog box select the Security tab.

  3. Select the Internet Zone.

  4. If you do not have custom security settings, click the Default Level button and proceed to step 8.

  5. Click the Custom Level... button. The Security Settings dialog box will pop up.

  6. In the Security Settings - Internet Zone dialog box, scroll to the Scripting section and enable Active scripting.

  7. Click OK.

  8. Click OK.

  9. Click Refresh to run scripts.

* Internet Explorer 7.x

  1. Select Internet Options from the Tools menu.

  2. In Internet Options dialog box select the Security tab.

  3. Select the Internet Zone.

  4. Click the Custom Level... button. The Security Settings dialog box will pop up.

  5. Scroll to the Scripting section and enable Active scripting.

  6. Click OK twice to close out.

  7. Click Refresh.

Internet Explorer 6.x 2

  1. Select Internet Options from the Tools menu.

  2. In Internet Options dialog box select the Security tab.

  3. Select the Internet Zone.

  4. Click the Custom Level... button. The Security Settings dialog box will pop up.

  5. Scroll to the Scripting section and enable Active scripting.

  6. Click OK twice to close out.

  7. Click Refresh.


Firefox 3.5+

  1. Not available.

Firefox 3.x *

  1. Select Options... from the Tools menu.

  2. Select the Content icon.

  3. Check Enable JavaScript.

  4. Click OK.

  5. Click Reload to run scripts.

Firefox 2.x 3  (Same as Firefox 3.x)

  1. Select Options... from the Tools menu.

  2. Select the Content icon.

  3. Check Enable JavaScript.

  4. Click OK.

  5. Click Reload to run scripts.


Netscape 9.x *

  1. Select Options... from the Tools menu.

  2. Select the Content icon.

  3. Check Enable JavaScript.

  4. Click OK.

  5. Click Reload to run scripts.

Netscape 8.x *

  1. Select Options... from the Tools menu.

  2. Select Site Controls under Security and Privacy options.

  3. Check Enable JavaScript.

  4. Click OK.

  5. Click Reload to run scripts.


Opera 10.x

  1. Not available.

Opera 9.x *

  1. Select Preferences... from the Tools menu.

  2. Select the Advanced tab.

  3. Click Content from the left menu.

  4. Check Enable JavaScript.

  5. Click OK.

  6. Click Reload to run scripts.

Opera 8.x *  (Same as Opera 9.x)

  1. Select Preferences... from the Tools menu.

  2. Select the Advanced tab.

  3. Click Content from the left menu.

  4. Check Enable JavaScript.

  5. Click OK.

  6. Click Reload to run scripts.


Safari 4.x

  1. Not available.

Safari 3.x *

  1. Select Preferences from the Edit menu.

  2. Select the Security icon.

  3. Check Enable JavaScript.

  4. Close the dialog window.

  5. Click Reload to run scripts.


Google Chrome 4.x

  1. Launch Google Chrome with the -enable-javascript parameter.

  2. e.g. "C:\Program Files\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe" -enable-javascript

       Note: By default, Javascript should be enabled in Google Chrome.
